Country Manager – Japan (with In-Person Evaluation Week, June 17–20)

Atomic is a U.S.-based fintech company focused on reshaping the future of personal finance by empowering consumers through embedded banking technology with our subscription management and payment switching technology. We’re expanding to Japan — and we’re looking for a sharp, bilingual leader to help us establish and grow our presence in the market.
This role starts with an extended, in-person job interview. From June 17–20, you’ll join our CEO and Chief of Staff for a series of client meetings and strategic sessions during their visit to Japan. You’ll act as an interpreter, cultural liaison, and emerging leader — learning about our company while we learn about you.
If the fit is right, this will lead to a full-time Country Manager position overseeing:
Customer development and local partnerships
Localization of Atomic’s products and messaging
Coordination with U.S. and Japan-based teams
Strategic expansion initiatives
During the in-person interview week, you will participate in a paid interview at $400 USD / day and perform the following responsibilities:
Accompany the CEO and Chief of Staff to client and partner meetings
Translate and interpret in real-time (English ⇄ Japanese)
Help contextualize business norms, expectations, and cultural cues
Engage in strategic conversations about Japan’s financial landscape
Show us how you think, communicate, and represent a brand
We're looking for:
Someone with a high level of ownership, who cares about delivering a great outcome
Fluency in Japanese and English (professional/business level)
Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn new things
A curious, self-directed problem-solver with high integrity
Interest in fintech, financial services, or startup ecosystems
Someone who thrives in both business meetings and unstructured situations
Bonus if you have:
Experience in client-facing roles, account management, or strategy
Worked in or with fintech, banking, or B2B SaaS
Familiarity with market entry, localization, or business development
